SBM Blow Bars

Replacement bars for SBM impactors, cast to drawing or reverse-engineered from a worn sample.

SBM Blow Bars manufactured by Melco Castings
Overview

About sbm blow bars

Melco produces replacement blow bars for SBM impact crushers used across European and Middle Eastern aggregate operations. The bars are cast to the customer drawing where one is available, and reverse-engineered from a worn sample where it is not.

The alloy is chosen with the customer rather than defaulted. Clean abrasive quarry rock generally points to high chrome; mixed or recycled feed with tramp metal points to manganese or a martensitic grade.

Bars are supplied in weight-matched sets with chemical and hardness certificates for the heat.

Applications

  • SBM impact crushers, mobile and static
  • Quarry aggregate and road base production
  • Limestone and hard rock crushing
  • Recycling and demolition waste processing
Features

What you get

Cast to drawing or sample

A worn bar is enough to start. The mounting faces give us the original geometry.

Alloy chosen with you

We discuss the feed and duty before recommending a grade rather than shipping a single default.

Certificates with every heat

Spectrometer analysis and hardness results supplied as standard.

Container-ready packing

Palletised, strapped and marked for sea freight without repacking.

Questions

SBM Blow Bars: common questions

Can you make SBM blow bars without a drawing?

Yes. Send a worn bar and we will recover the mounting geometry from the unworn faces, rebuild the wear profile and confirm the drawing with you before cutting a pattern.

Which alloy do you recommend for quarry limestone?

For clean, abrasive limestone with limited tramp metal, high chrome in the 15Cr-3Mo or 20Cr-Mo range generally gives the best tonnes per set. If the pit produces occasional uncrushables, a martensitic grade is the safer compromise.

Do you supply the impact aprons as well?

Yes. Impact plates and aprons are cast in the same alloy families. Replacing bars while running badly worn aprons wastes bar life, so the two are usually planned together.
